I was born in 1980 in the beautiful and historic Oliwa in city of Gdańsk in Poland. In 2004, I graduated from the Visual Arts Department at the State Arts School in Gdynia. For the next ten years, I was a graphic designer, assistant, and photographer of the Polish painter and businessman Feliks Chudzyński. In 2015, I emigrated to Malta to become a theatre performance photographer and videographer.
As a draftsman artist in 2016, I had my first solo exhibition in Corinthia Palace, where I sold my first artworks and began a professional career. In 2017, I worked as an independent street artist in Malta, selling numerous artworks to private customers worldwide. In years 2019 and 2020, I had a full-time exposition in `L`Art` private gallery in Sliema, Malta.
I specialize in pencil or black chalk/crayon drawings on paper. My technique is inspired by Zdzisław Beksiński 1974 drawings. In my drawings, my main subjects, dehumanized body, mystical architecture and fantasy landscape, are subjectively transformed and cleansed from any human presence. The oneiric scenery, where only some mysterious creatures dwell, oozes silence, emptiness, and abandonment. The absence of strong lights or contrasting shadows create a foggy and desolated reality, taken from the world of dreams and inspired by the colourlessness of the night itself. That desired look is obtained by using solely greys and blacks. The strong baroque influence in Maltese monumental architecture has had significant impact on the creative process. Monotonous structures, executed only in stone, yet rich in detailed decorative forms, challenge to search for a different vibration of lines and thus to offer various ways of interpretation. By doing this art, I photograph my dreams and depict my way of seeing reality.
