Draftsman, photographer & filmmaker
I'm graduate visual artist from Gdynia State Art School. I currently work as a filmmaker and photographer for the University of Gdansk.
Pencil drawing is my passion and favorite way of expression. I search for a formal structure similar to Zdzislaw Beksinski 1970`s drawings and atmosphere of H.P Lovecraft’s literature so similar to dreamy landscapes of my beloved hometown. Its hills and dark valleys, old forests mixed with historical architecture, shaped my artistic fascinations. In my work I depict world at dusk, dwelling on a vague border between dreams and reality. At dusk, still and mindful presence reveals the secret hidden transcendental nature. I enter liminal reality. Like in my dreams, world well known becomes silent, shadowy and abandoned place. I explore old houses full of ancient artifacts, through empty streets and labyrinth of dark corridors to forgotten gardens and magnificent forests laid by the sea. A stony road goes to a marvelous sunset city laid in a forrest valley, to my beloved Oliva.
...And once I walked through a golden valley that led to shadowy groves and ruins, and ended in a mighty wall green with antique vines, and pierced by a little gate of bronze.
Many times I walked through that valley, and longer and longer would I pause in the spectral half-light where the giant trees squirmed and twisted grotesquely, and the grey ground stretched damply from trunk to trunk, sometimes disclosing the mould-stained stones of buried temples. And always the goal of my fancies was the mighty vine-grown wall with the little gate of bronze therein...
